Touchkit Linux driver works with X-Windows 3.x and 4.x. There are sections in the config file for XFree86 for Touchkit device. After setup with the Touchkit setup file, the description sections for Touchkit will be added to the XF86config automatically. However, there is something difference between redhat and other distributions. In redhat, the configuration file for X window V3.x is XF86config but XF86Config-4 for X-Window 4.x. The other distribution of Linux use XF86Config for thier X Window setting for the bundle XFree86. Therefore, Touchkit driver contains different setup package files for these different Linux distributions. This Touchkit driver for Linux package contains 2 setup files. 1.) Touchkit.setup.sh: This setup file is used for redhat 6.x, 7.x and mandrake before 9.2. 2.) Touchkit.setupr8nm.sh: This setup file is used for redhat 8.x, 9.x. [Note] The Linux Touchkit driver will scan the ports defined in /etc/tpaneld.conf only. By default, it scans /dv/ttyS0, /dev/ttyS1, and /dev/psaux only. If the Touchkit device was connected with other serial ports, pls be sure do modification in the file /etc/tpanel.conf. For more detail, pls take a reference to the Touhckit user manual for Linux.
