However, Windowed DOS mode is fully supported. A touch to a full-screen DOS session will cause your system to immediately return to your Windows desktop. A mouse can be used to access programs run in full-screen DOS mode. * Only COM1 and COM2 are supported in the Setup program when using serial controllers (see the section below titled "Using the Touchscreen on Serial Ports Other Than COM1 and COM2"). * Windows 95 may lock up during startup if the resource settings in the Setup dialog of the Touchscreen Control Panel do not match the actual controller configuration. Use Safe Mode to start Windows 95 and change the resource settings to match the controller configuration, then restart Windows 95. * Video drivers for PC video systems using Trident 9682 video chip set may cause an offset after touchscreen calibration. The offset is corrected when Windows 95 is restarted. * The touchscreen driver may cause Windows 95 to lock up during Shutdown if the touchscreen is activated after Shutdown is initiated. * If you have an older Elo touchscreen controller that is not supported by MonitorMouse for Windows 95, an application that must run in a DOS Full Screen session, or a MonitorMice multiple touchscreen application, you may use the Windows 3.x 16-bit drivers instead of the MonitorMice for Windows 95 32-bit drivers. These drivers are found on the DOS and Windows Driver Disk version 2.0c. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Using the Touchscreen on Serial Ports Other Than COM1 and COM2 ---------------------------------------------------------------- To use the touchscreen on serial ports other than COM1 and COM2, use the following procedure: 1. Connect the serial touchscreen controller to the serial port to be used. 2. Install MonitorMouse for Windows 95 as described above. Choose the appropriate serial touchscreen controller on COM1 when running Setup to allow for a complete driver install. 3. Run the Windows 95 Registry Editor by clicking the Start button. Click Run, then type "regedit" and press Enter. 4. Edit the values of the following registry keys in the following registry key folder to match the number, I/O Port Address, and IRQ of the COM port to which the touchscreen is connected: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\ MonMouse\TouchScreen00 \ComPort (the COM port number) Com 3 example: 03 00 Com 4 example: 04 00 \ControllerAddress (low byte followed by high byte) Com 3 example: e8 03 Com 4 example: e8 02 \ControllerIRQ (hexidecimal) IRQ 5 example: 05 00 IRQ 12 example: 0c 00 5. Delete the directory C:\Elo to remove the touchscreen diagnostic programs and sample Z-axis and calibration programs. 6. Restart Windows 95. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Programming Examples ---------------------------------------------------------------- The Custom installation option allows you to install example programs (with source code) that access capabilities of the MonitorMouse for Windows 95 driver and Touchscreen Control Panel. These programs are installed in the C:\Elo directory (default). Calib.exe is an example of how to call the exported function CalibrateScreen() in the Touchscreen Control Panel (Monmouse.cpl). This allows you to calibrate the touchscreen directly from your application without having to run the Touchscreen Control Panel. Zaxis.exe is an example of how to access the IntelliTouch Z-axis capabilities. The program uses a custom meter control, which reports the amount of pressure applied to a button on the screen (0 - 100%). --------------------------------------------------------------- How to Reach Elo TouchSystems --------------------------------------------------------------- Elo TouchSystems, Inc. 41752 Christy Street Fremont, CA 94538 VOICE: (510) 651-2340 (Pacific Time) SALES: (800) ELOTOUCH (356-8682) FAX: (510) 651-3511 WEB: www.elotouch.com Technical Support Line VOICE: (423) 220-4299 (Voice mail after hours) FAX: (423) 482-6617 E-MAIL: elotech@elotouch.com BBS: (423) 482-9840 (Downloads only - up to 14.4K baud - multiple protocols) CompuServe: GO ELOTOUCH Select Elo from the Libraries and Messages menus.
